i understand what your saying but from what i can see your dwelling on all the negitive all the question that cant be answered.instead of dwelling on all the positives.i belivive me going out preaching and living a clean life is jehovah Gods will.i serve jehovah no one else i beleive the governing body r giving out the spirtual food at the proper time.im not saying everything is correct.but im not going to give my faith up just because i dont understand a certain point.i try to look at the big picture.the isralite nation all ways did things wrong but faithful men like moses and abraham looked at the bigger picture
Just dropping in to say wow, that's the best post I've read from you so far PMJ!! Now, to get the bigger picture, do you see that other individual Christians have roughly the same goals as you - serve Jehovah, live a godly life, preach - if they believe that is what God has called them to, not believing everything taught by their respective leaders is correct - but holding to their faith. Because of this I believe there are anointed Christians both in 'Christendom' and in 'Jehovahs organisation' in spite of doctrinal differences. I agree Sad Emo. Pmj, I think probably a lot of people feel the way you do. No man has all the answers. It's just not going to happen. Man is imperfect. So, that's why I have a tough time with the idea that a person's salvation is dependant on their holding fast to the teachings of another man, based on that man's interpretation or understanding of a particular scripture at any given time. To me, that goes against what the Bible teaches. If two people get together for a weekly reading of the bible and ask God that they be led by His Holy Spirit to understand the truth of the Bible, yet they come to a complete different understanding of the Bible then what the WTS teaches, did the Holy Spirit mislead them? You ask who are annointed? Maybe, due to our Human imperfection, we will all have a limited or different understanding of who God is and so therefore, we can't judge who are annointed and who are not. all the best Pmj, good thread Meagan

To DA or not to DA that is the question

hi guys, as most of you know i have been inactive for a bit ( august of 2004 was the last time i turned in time) i changed congregations in december and have pretty much faded.

last night i had a talk with someone and he asked me why i was still in, why not just da?.

my answer ?.

Hey Lola, good reasons. It's not like it's a walk in the park, but I really believe when you have good reason that will be your foundation. It help you stand tall and do what ya gotta do.

I da'ed in Nov. No I don't regret it, although I won't say that it doesn't hurt, badly at times.

I understand much of where you are coming from.

Da'ing to me in the end was a matter of yes, wanting out. But more than that cutting ties with an Org that abuses people. It meant moving on and answering questions for me and for those that I love.

Da for reasons that you won't regret. Da when you are confident it's the right decision for you.

Kingdom Hall Spankings

most meetings i went to, children were brought to the washrooms in the back to be disciplined.

often i could hear a child yell or cry due to the spanking given by the parent.

people in the hall would have that look on their face meaning that it was alright to discipline a child by spanking him.

In the hall where I used to go there was a mothers room within the ladies bathroom.

Often I would be sitting in the mothers room either nursing or soothing one of mine with the door shut and have a mother come in with an upset young one (toddler to 5 or 6) then when they would see that I was there trying to keep things quiet, they'd excuse themselves, close the door and then it would begin.

There is one woman in particular who, no lie, I could hear her arm coming down on her sons ass.

I know it sounds like an exaggeration, but it's not. It sent chills up my spine. This little kid got beat so bad.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine. One of the elders in my hall and his wife encourage it and various members of my family have been known for bringing in the wooden spoon.

It got to a point where, now that I look back, I didn't want to go to the meetings if I knew my kids were going to be tired or acting up. a) It wasn't fair to them and b) I hated listening to those kids.

I'm sure that making these little ones suffer through 2 hours of sitting absolutely still makes God quite happy.
